In what ways does thermal insulation contribute to improving the energy efficiency of buildings?
The thermal insulation of a building on the roof ( flat roof insulation or tile roof insulation ) and on its external masonry ( thermal insulation ) is, I would say, in essence, an insulating mantle, which protects it from exposure to extreme temperature conditions and adverse climatic factors. Thanks to this mantle, thermal or cold losses from the inside of the building are reduced and at the same time n temperature that exists outside it is prevented from affecting that of its interior. In this way, we have energy savings that can reach up to 80%, with the economic benefits being immediately felt by the building's occupants.
In your opinion, which are the most efficient thermal insulation materials?
When it comes to the implementation of building thermal insulation projects, an important role is played by the appropriate selection of thermal insulation materials , which will ensure the reduction of thermal losses and at the same time the maintenance of the desired temperature inside the space. Of course, there is a wide range of options available in thermal insulation materials, as long as they are certified by the current regulations and their application is done by certified workshops. I should, in fact, mention at this point that this is an area in which the Panhellenic Association of Insulation Companies has been investing, implementing various actions for over a decade, which, fortunately, are bearing fruit, as more and more people are now asking not only the characteristics of the materials to compare them with each other and to decide and also to apply them by the appropriate workshops.
In what ways can thermal insulation affect the value of a property?
The activation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Regulation and the obligation to issue a Building Energy Performance Certificate, in order to lease or sell a building, clearly affect the value of a property, since a high grade energy certificate proves that its n heating and n cooling will not be expensive.
